ABOUT TIM

Hi, I'm Tim.I build digital products.

Independent product builder and software developer based in Amstelveen. I like working close to the problem, deciding what actually makes sense to build, and then taking responsibility for getting it into production.

HOW I WORK

  • DIRECT

If an idea is unnecessarily complicated or expensive, I say so before it becomes code.

  • CLOSE TO THE PRODUCT

I work directly with the people who understand the business, not through a ticket queue.

  • END TO END

Product decisions, UX, frontend, backend and launch are one job, not five handovers.

  • AI WHERE IT HELPS

I use AI heavily where it genuinely helps; responsibility for the architecture, code and result stays with me.

BACKGROUND

Where that experience comes from.

  1. Oct 2025 - Present

    TJDeveloper

Freelance full-stack developer, AI and product development

Independent product, software and applied AI work for clients and my own products.

    What I worked on
    • Complete digital products, internal tools and automation workflows, usually starting from a business problem or an early idea rather than a finished technical brief.
    • Next.js/React/TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL/Supabase and Vercel, plus practical AI for document processing, structured extraction, validation and workflow automation.
    • Returned to SmartLoxs as a freelance developer, separating administrative functionality from the main dashboard into a dedicated admin application.
  2. Oct 2022 - Sep 2025

    SmartLoxs

    Software developer

Production software for operational flows around Schiphol.

    What I worked on
    • Full-stack work on the production platform, with Angular/TypeScript on the frontend and Python, Flask, SQLAlchemy and relational databases on the backend.
    • Operational flows used around Schiphol, including workflows for truck drivers arriving at and being processed by different handlers.
    • Production features across frontend, backend, APIs and database migrations, while becoming increasingly involved in turning operational problems into workable software.
  3. Apr 2020 - Oct 2022

    Parkeagle

    Software engineer

Python, computer vision and data tooling in operational software.

    What I worked on
    • Started with my graduation project: Python software that detected and counted moving and parked vehicles from camera footage. I stayed afterwards as a software engineer.
    • Automated data analyses and internal processes, and built GUI applications for viewing and editing database-backed data.
    • Worked mainly with Python, Pandas, NumPy, PyQt5 and OpenPyXL in data-heavy operational software.
  4. Mar 2019 - Apr 2022

    Soilspect

    Co-founder, software developer

Co-founded a technology startup and owned much of the software side.

    What I worked on
    • The company automated ground settlement measurement for infrastructure and construction use cases.
    • Owned much of the software side, including data processing and the online dashboard, using Python, Django, JavaScript, Linux and Git.
    • Soilspect won the best startup award during the minor; while I was involved, the company received €25,000 from the HBO Take-off fund and €50,000 from ESA.
